Is There A Limit To Email Marketing.txt
Is There A Limit To Email Marketing?
This is a million dollar question – how often should you mail? Email marketing is a constant phenomenon. It’s twice or thrice a week for most marketers. There are some who mail only once a week. If you are one of them, then dear friend, you will make your customers’ interest fade out in a short time.
What happens when your email marketing frequency exceeds 3 times a week? You get more “unsubscribe” and many irritated customers, who are ready to hurl abuses at you the next time they get your mail!
And you thought that more mails make more sales. How wrong you were!
So, the question still remains – how often should you mail?
Before Email Marketing, Analysis Your Business
There are marketers who mail everyday. What?! Yes; but they receive between 100-200 subscribers daily. They CAN afford to get 20-25 “unsubscribe” per day. With such a huge number of subscribers knocking their virtual doors everyday, who cares for 10 or 20 dropping out?
But, if you receive only 20-25 subscribes everyday, you just CANNOT afford to lose 20-25 daily. Otherwise you will have to pack your business within a short time!
Are You Full-Time Or Part-Time Online?
Do you work full-time online? If yes, then it’s easy for you to spare an hour or two composing emails as well as producing email campaigns in order to maintain a couple of emails everyday. You get enough time for product innovations, implementing new ideas, making new contacts, and taking a deep look into your overall business.
But what about those who work part-time online and have a fewer products to sell? They cannot afford to spare much time for email marketing. And the irony is that they NEED to have more time to compose mails and create email campaigns. Besides this, they also have to spare time for recruiting new subscribers, designing new products, and expanding their business. Phew!
So, what should part-timers do?
For the newcomers online, email marketing once or twice a week is sufficient.
For those who have been there for some time and have a few products, your email marketing frequency should be thrice a week.
For those who eat and sleep online and have a good online “hold”, email marketing frequency is not an issue really. They can afford to lose subscribers, because the people who unsubscribe are those who don’t like the marketers’ faces!
Ask yourself, “Can you afford to lose your customers?” “Does your business stand at a place where “unsubscribes” cannot affect it?” If yes, then go for frequent email marketing. If no, then stick to a limit.
Email marketing is for knocking the doors of your customers, not banging them!
